Canberra Half Ironman

I went into this race with a very relaxed attitude. I had been tired and sick for 4 weeks leading up to the race, and only a last minute visit to a nutritionist on Friday gave me some confidence for the race.
For my lack of training, the swim felt tough, and I couldn’t drop Aaron Farlow off my feet. However, I felt very good on the bike, and pushed at different times on the front, but Farlow stayed with me. I knew it was gong to be a tough run. I’ve hardly run lately, and knew that if Farlow had done any training at all he was going to be run better than me. I pushed hard to stay with him for 5kms, but then I dropped off and he ran away with the race. 3rd place was a long way back, which eventually was Tim Reed, so I was able to run the last several km’s easier.
I am very sore from the race (that happens when you aren’t well trained for a half) and won’t run till the weekend at best.
My trip to the nutritionist was invaluable, and I recommend all those who put effort into their training and racing go and make sure they are getting all the supplements they need.
All the best for Christmas everyone. Safe training.
Merry Christmas
Pete

Большое спасибо. Появилась классная мысль, но она требует поверхностной реорганизации моей мысли, займусь завтра. Позже поделюсь с читателями блога!
