10km PB, and Seminar success.

Hi everyone.
Training is going better than ever, which actually means I am training less than ever. Every preparation my training hours decrease as I search for what suits me best.
Last weekend was a very successful weekend in more ways than one. On Saturday I won the Sydney Striders 10km run in 31:33, and on Sunday my coach Allan Pitman and I ran a very successful triathlon seminar in North Sydney.
In the 10km race I paced of another runner until the last 200m when I broke away for a good win. I crossed the line feeling good, a bit left in the tank, and very happy with the result. The adaptation I’ll get from such a race is huge, as is the confidence it has given me in my running ability, as well as adding to my love of running.
The Sunday seminar was a big hit also, with myself and Al being able to answer all question definitively and from different perspectives at the same time. Everyone enjoyed getting some stroke correction in the pool, and technique tips for running, and of course lots of info for training and racing long course triathlons.
For those who couldn’t make it, here are the main points.
- Under-train, not over-train
- Balance. Days off must be without guilt – enjoy them or sleep.
- Brain training – everything, every second, must be focused and working on technique.
- Supplements (vitamins) are a must.
- Keep yourself in top working shape – massage, physio, acupuncture,
- Recovery from today’s session is preparation for tomorrows.
Only 4 weeks until Quelle Challenge Roth. I am hoping to break 8 hours, and so far am on track with my training.
I’ll update again soon.
Train well
Pete
